I hit the alarm before it went off, not wanting it to wake Tony. I now loved mornings. I would lay in Tony's arms in the peaceful quiet of the start of the day. The sun would come in and dance across his skin. Tangled in the sheets, I'd sometimes watch him sleep before the alarm went off. Other times since we had recently taken that step, I'd wake him to spend the morning making love. Before the hustle and bustle of a busy day that will take my energy and time it's nice to just lie here warm; next to him. The one who I want to wake up and see every morning. Since our first night together I've felt so connected to him, like he's a part of me and he is. The part of me that makes me appreciate and enjoy life and being in love. Without him life just wouldn't be the same. It's a good feeling being so loved and needed. I leaned over him, running my fingers through his messy hair. "Babe, it's time to get up."
He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close. "Mm...five more minutes," he said sleepily without opening his eyes.
I ran my fingers across his chest and placed a feather light kiss on his lips. "You don't want us to be late do you?" I paused, deciding to tease him. "I'm awake and you're the one who kept us up half the night."
He opened his eyes and yawned. "Maybe, but I heard no objections," he said with a grin.
"Nope, there wasn't and there never will be." I gazed at him lovingly, a small smile tracing my lips. "Good morning."
He reached over and traced my cheek with his thumb, gazing back at me with those dark brown eyes that I so easily got lost in. "Good morning."
I rested my head on his shoulder. "Ready for today?"
He stroked my hair. "Sort of, I'm not worried about talking with your mom, I'm pretty sure she's okay with me, but I'm worried about your dad."
I giggled. "You mean to tell me that you have gone up against hardened criminals and bureaucratic pain in the ass prosecutors in the courtroom, yet you're scared of a dinner with my parents?"
"Damn right, I am. Meeting your parents is big."
"Hmm...you're right. But it will be okay. Dad can be protective and he'll ask you lots of questions, but once he's done that he'll relax. He just has to see how much you mean to me...and if it helps, I'm nervous about meeting your dad too."
"You'll be fine; he's excited to meet you."
"Really?" Tony nodded and I smiled.
"Have you told your parents that-"
"-We're practically living together, no not yet but I plan to today."
"In that case, let's make it official. Caty will you move in with me?"
